1. What is the purpose of the WhatsApp Community FriendlyNet.org?

The community is intended for the exchange of HamRadio-related information on various topics related to our hobby. The main focus of the Community is to serve this purpose for Europe. Groups within the Community should be focused linguistically and/or thematically and, if possible, not have regional aspects.
The idea is to bring us brothers closer together in the pursuit of our hobby!

The following is meant to be more of a guideline than a rigid set of rules. We see ourselves as Jehovah's Witnesses 24/7 and in everything we do, and want to behave accordingly when practising our hobby and using this community (Phil 2:3, 4).

2. Requirements for access

Persons who wish to have access to the Community must

a) be a baptised Jehovah's Witness and
b) have a valid amateur radio licence

In exceptional cases, SWL can also join, as long as the participant is aiming to acquire an amateur radio licence in the long term.
If one of the two criteria no longer applies, the administrators reserve the right to remove the person. If someone is no longer a Jehovah's Witness, removal is mandatory.

3. Guidelines

a) The group name should make the main topic of the discussion clear. Please always remember that the community is mainly about radio: cat pictures and videos may be cute, but they don't belong here.

b) Think before you write. Is it intended for everyone and HamRadio-related in any way? Please discuss chats with only one participant directly.

c) Before forwarding messages, please make sure that the content corresponds to the facts. If you are not sure, it is better not to send it. See also w18 August, pp4-5, Do You Have the Facts?

d) Language matters: Groups are usually labelled with a language (e.g. '(IT)' for Italian). It is therefore preferable to use this specific language in this chat so that everyone can benefit from it. Most special topic chats are labelled with '(EN)' - this is the common denominator we have to agree on today. Please consider it a labour of love to your brother if you take the trouble to translate into English before you post something there.
In the new world, we will switch the group to our new common language ;-)

e) Please follow the advice of the group administrators as they are here to help, not to blame.

f) All members can suggest new groups. Please keep in mind the basic idea of our community: it should fulfil a need and contribute to unity.

4. Administration

The Community Administration (CA) is organised by a committee of selected brothers from all the major language groups represented (native speakers). The CA is responsible for the smooth running of the community and makes decisions by mutual agreement. The Community Administration has the final say.

As of today, the CA currently consists of the following brothers:

Sebastian, DB7SE
Manuel, DF7MH
Stefan, DK5SM
Richard, GW0MAV
Ron, PA3AKC
Jeremy, M0JTH

Group administrators are primarily responsible for the respective group and ensure that everything runs smoothly. Each group has at least two administrators.

Final word

Please enjoy the group chat. You can mute or leave a group chat at any time. Please note that when you leave the last group, you also leave the community. If you wish to rejoin, please contact one of the administrators. Let us know if there are any issues.
